In Rivers State, Sole Administrator Ibok-Ete Ibas has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Dr Ngozi Ordu to appear at the Government House, sparking legal and political controversy. The move follows Speaker Tajudeen Abbas’ directive for Ibas to report to the National Assembly for legislative oversight.

Meanwhile, a fresh row erupts over a ₦300 million gift to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). With the conference venue changed, Ibas demands a refund, dividing lawyers over ethics, governance, and public trust issues.

Legal Practitioner Evans Ufeli joins to unpack the Sole Administrator’s powers, the NBA refund debate, and what this crisis means for Rivers politics.
