ARISE Agenda Fulfillment: Governor Eno declared that his administration has successfully delivered on key commitments within his signature "ARISE Agenda," focusing on infrastructure, rural development, and social welfare.
Infrastructure Development:
The state has completed or commenced work on approximately 1,300 km of roads accompanied by 40 bridges.
Significant progress is noted in aviation infrastructure, including the new airport terminal (which recently recorded its first international flight to Accra, Ghana), the Aviation Village, and the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility.
Work continues on the Ibom Deep Seaport, following federal government approval for certification and compliance processes.
Education and Youth Empowerment:
The Akwa Ibom College of Education, Afaha Nsit, has been upgraded to a university of education.
A major push in rural development includes the construction of model primary schools equipped with solar power, computer labs, and teacher quarters.
1,000 teachers have been recruited, with approval granted for another 1,000.
Youth Development Centres are being established across all 31 local government areas (LGAs) to provide training in ICT, fashion, and catering, with the goal of training 31,000 youths annually.
Healthcare and Social Welfare:
The government has commissioned or initiated primary healthcare centers across all 31 LGAs.
2,854 medical personnel have been recruited, and over 200,000 residents are now enrolled in the state's health insurance scheme.
Housing efforts include the construction of 1,048 units across various "compassionate" and specialized villages.
Economic Initiatives:
The "Oil Palm Tree Crop Revolution" was launched to position Akwa Ibom as a top oil palm producer, supported by grants, seedlings, and farm implements.
Fiscal management has been strengthened through the Treasury Single Account system, boosting internally generated revenue.
Future Vision: "ARISE 2.0":
The Governor unveiled "ARISE 2.0" as the development blueprint for the 2027–2031 period, committing to the completion of 85 additional projects aimed at further transforming the state.
He emphasized the need for unity and peaceful, issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.
